Dissection imagery below
This scientific illustration compares the digestive anatomy of three animals native to the Southeastern United States. Despite representing three different classes (Aves, Mammalia, and Insecta), these three creatures have comparable digestive anatomy. This project was an investigation and exploratory concept as it started with three animal dissections, all with ethically sourced animals, and an idea that tied them together. The animal specimens were acquired cross-continentally, and thus additional research was done in order to compare them to their sister-species that lived in the same habitat—grasslands of the Southeastern United States. The final illustration was completed in Photoshop with line work done in Illustrator.
